FAITH BASED CLEARGY THERAPY PROJECT

Program Description:  FaithLink is an interfaith initiative designed to provide support and resources to faith leaders, also known as “first responders” or “gatekeepers.”   This program responds to the many concerns expressed by faith leaders that they are not equipped to adequately address the issues/conditions that members bring into the church.  Faithlink is also designed raise awareness of the prevalence o f mental illness and its impact in the faith community.   Faithlink fosters respectful and collaborative relationships between mental health professionals and faith leaders that will improve quality of care for individuals facing mental health challenges.    FaithLink staff and consultants work to educate, show empathy and provide guidance on how to access and utilize mental health resources.    The program provides participants with a platform to hear and understand how one can address their mental wellbeing and have faith at the same time.   The program incorporates the pillars of NAMI Franklin County, namely, Support, Education, and Advocacy.   These initiatives educate and raise awareness about mental health and mental conditions to disrupt stigma and dispel myths.
